LA Galaxy take home another win, beating Minnesota United 2-1

Both teams came out strong, but in just the first 10 minutes of the game, injury struck the LA Galaxy.  Baggio Husidic was forced to sub out due to what was later confirmed as a broken leg.  After that, it fell upon the rest of the team to work extra hard, and in minute 38, Giovani Dos Santos came through with a beautiful goal.  The half ended with the Galaxy up 1-0, but Minnesota still had a lot of fight left in them.

After the half, Minnesota came back with a fire, and in the 66th minute Christian Ramirez scored a goal and equalized the game.  Despite continuing to create promising chances, it was the LA Galaxy who scored next.  Romain Alessandrini made a powerful free kick that deflected off of Christian Ramirez, into the goal, and gave the Galaxy the win.

Captain Jelle Van Damme was pleased with the fight the team put up.  “At the end of the game we walk away with three points, and we grinded for 90 minutes. We’re fighting and battling for each other, and that’s what we need to do especially on the road,” he said to LAGalaxy.com.

The Galaxy are gaining momentum, now having won their last two matches and tied the two before that. Hoping to continue the trend, they will take on San Jose next Saturday at 7:00.
