Seattle Reign FC midfielder Jessica Fishlock has been named the NWSL Player of the Week for the second time of the 2017 season.

Fishlock was vital in Seattle’s 5-1 victory over the Houston Dash. She made the team’s first goal of the game in the 18th minute after a clearance deflected off Beverly Yanez. Christine Nairn gained control of the ball and passed it to Fishlock, who made her first goal of 2017.

But that’s not all – Fishlock also helped to double the score for Reign FC less than ten minutes later, providing the assist on Megan Rapinoe’s goal.

The NWSL Media Association selects a player each week of the regular season to appoint as Player of the Week. This is the third time that Fishlock has won the title. For Reign FC, it is the 15th time that a member has won.

The last Player of the Week was also a Reign FC player, Haley Kopmeyer, making it the first time this has happened in the first two weeks of the season.

Reign FC will return to Memorial Stadium on Saturday, May 13th to play against the Washington Spirit after playing on the road against Boston and Portland.
