Both the Boston Breakers and the Chicago Red Stars earned one point this week after a 1-1 tie on Sunday.
It was a slow start for both teams, while there were a number of opportunities and promising plays on both sides,  no one scored a goal until the 69th minute of play.  It was then, that star player Rose Lavelle rebounded the ball and scored, putting the Boston Breakers up 1-0.  Unfortunately for them, it was a lead that would not last.
After coming close to a goal on an indirect kick in the 78th minute, the Chicago Red Stars were still desperate to score, and in the 89th minute they did just that. Christen Press headed the ball into the net, tying up the game and leaving the final score at 1-1.
Next week, the Boston Breakers will take on the Portland Thorns on Friday at 4:00, while the Chicago Red Stars will play North Carolina FC on Sunday at 1:00.

Christen Press scored a goal on a header and tied the game up.
