Last week fans watched in excitement as the LA Galaxy started to look like their old selves again and came back from being down 2-0 to tie Chicago Fire.  This week, the LA Galaxy did one better, they dominated the New York Red Bulls 3-1.

A big part of that win can be attributed to Romain Alessandrini who started things off on the right foot by scoring twice in the first 9 minutes.  He got the ball rolling in the 8th minute when he slammed a free kick past the goal keeper. Not even a minute later he was back at the goal line, scoring again. Up 2-0 the Galaxy tightened up their defense and didn’t let the Bulls score for the whole first half.
The LA Galaxy continued to dominate, and in minute 78, Giovani dos Santos scored, making it 3-0.  Close to a shutout, the NY Red Bulls did respond, but it wasn’t until very late in the game.  In the 3rd minute of stoppage time the Bulls did finally get a goal, making the final score 3-1.
This is certainly a good start to the Galaxy’s four match stretch of away games.
Next, they will take on Minnesota United on Sunday at 2:00.
