SANTA MONICA – The USMNT is back at it with two big games this week! It all kicks off with a must win World Cup Qualifier at home against Trinidad and Tobago at 5:00 tonight.  Then, on June 11, the USMNT will fly to Estadio Azeteca, Mexico City to take on Mexico.

After a disastrous start to the World Cup Qualifiers, the USMNT is still fighting an uphill battle, having only 4 points total. Ideally, they win both of these games and come out with 6 more points, however, first and foremost they must concentrate on Trinidad and Tobago.

The Trinidad and Tobago game is a much easier one to win, and realistically beating Mexico is going to be pretty tough.  For the Mexico match the USMNT will have to deal with playing in a different altitude, having only a few days rest after the game tonight, and with playing the number one team in their Hexagonal bracet.  In their last face off in November, Mexico beat them 2-1.  Trinidad and Tobago on the other hand is currently last in the Hexagonal group, and the USMNT has home field advantage. The odds are in their favor and they need the points.

The USMNT currently stands in fourth place of the bracket and wants to move into the top three.  After all, the way qualifying works is that the top three teams move on automatically to the World Cup, while the fourth-place team has to face off against Asia’s fifth place finisher in a playoff game.

The game tonight will air on Fox Sports 1 at 5:00.

The match will be played at Dickís Sporting Goods Park in Colorado.
