SANTA MONICA – Yesterday, Jill Ellis released her 22-player roster for the USWNT’s upcoming friendlies against the Korea Republic on Oct. 19 and Oct. 22.

The friendlies will take place right after the NWSL season wraps up with its championship match that pits the Portland Thorns against North Carolina Courage this Saturday.  Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan, and Allie Long from the Portland Thorns were all named to the roster, along with Abby Dahlkemper, Taylor Smith, Lynn Williams, and Samantha Mewis from North Carolina Courage.

Many of the players who defeated New Zealand handily in their back-to-back friendlies on Sept. 15 and Sept. 19 will be returning to play the Korea Republic.

Coach Jill Ellis is excited about the upcoming match, feeling that the Korea Republic, “fit[s] perfectly into the mold of the kind of team we wanted to play this year and will be an excellent opponent for our group coming out of the NWSL season,” she told ussoccer.com

The USWNT will play the Korea Republic on Thursday, Oct. 19 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA at 5:00 Pacific Time. They’ll then play them a second time in Cary, N.C. on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 12:00.
