24-year-old Adriana Leon of the Boston Breakers has been voted the player of week by the NWSL Media Association. With one goal and two assists this week, she helped lead the Breakers to their first ever victory over Seattle Reign.  In their previous 10 match-ups the Breakers had lost to Seattle Reign 9 times and tied them once.

This week, however, Leon took matters into her own hands, scoring once in the 11th minute and assisting two other goals in the 15th and 52nd minute.  Thanks to Leon, the Breakers shut Seattle out 3-0 and broke their 10 game winless streak against the Reign.

This is Leon’s first time being named the NWSL player of the week and the ninth time a member of the Boston Breakers has been honored.

Leon will be back this Sunday at 3:00 when the Breakers take on North Carolina Courage.

This is the first time Leon has been named NWSL player of the week.
