SANTA MONICA – The LA Galaxy beat Orange County SC decisively on Wednesday in the fourth round of the US Open Cup.  The final score was 3-1.

The game began with a bang thanks to Jose Villarreal.  Just 7 minutes into the match, Villarreal got the ball and made a powerhouse goal from about 25 yards out, putting the LA Galaxy up 1-0.

Orange County SC answered 20 minutes later in minute 26.  Amirgy Pineda made a corner kick that Roy Meeus redirected into the goal to tie the game up, 1-1.

That tie, however, did not last for long.  In minute 36 Jack McBean found the back of the net on a penalty kick and the LA Galaxy was up once again, with the first half ending, 2-1.

The beginning of the second half was a slow one until, in minute 73, Ariel Lassiter scored his first Galaxy senior squad goal.  After a corner kick and failed header towards the goal, Lassiter rebounded the ball and tapped it in.  This put the Galaxy up 3-1, which ended as the final score of the match. The LA Galaxy will now advance to the next round of the US Open Cup.

The LA Galaxy, however, do not have much rest time.  On Saturday they will take on Houston Dynamo at 8:30.
