FC Dallas scored a big win against Pachuca on Wednesday, beating them 2-1 in their first game of the SCCL semifinals.  They are the first USA team ever to beat a team from Mexico at this leg of the competition.

However, they had to fight very hard for this win.  The two teams got an equal amount of shots off, and if anything Pachuca had slightly more possession, but FC Dallas refused to be silenced.  They did not even let an early goal by Franco Jara of Pachuca in the third minute of the game get them down.

FC Dallas kept fighting and responded with two more goals by the end of the match, giving them a sweet victory.  It was Maxmiliano Urruti in the 43rd minute who tied the game up and Kellyn Acosta who scored the game winning goal in the 58th minute.  Despite Pachuca’s best efforts and a few close calls, they were not able to score an equalizer.

This gives FC Dallas a big advantage in making it past this round. When they face Pachuca for the next game-all they need to do is tie to move on.  They will take on Pachuca for a second time on April 4th at 7:00 pm.
